【摘要】:Tensiontestsprovideinformationonthestrengthandductilityofmaterialsunderuniaxialtensilestresses.Thisinformationmaybeusefulincomparisonsofmaterials,alloydevelopment,qualitycontrol,anddesignundercertaincircumstances.Theresultsoftensiontestsofspecimensmachinedtostandardizeddimensionsfromselectedportionsofapartormaterialmaynottotallyrepresentthestrengthandductilitypropertiesoftheentireendproductoritsin-servicebehaviorindifferentenvironments.Thesetestmethodsareconsideredsatisfactoryforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentsandhavebeenusedextensivelyinthetradeforthispurpose.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthetensiontestingofwroughtandcastaluminum-andmagnesium-alloyproducts,exceptingaluminumfoil,andarederivedfromTestMethodsE8,whichcoverthetensiontestingofallmetallicmaterials.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;Exceptionstotheprovisionsofthesetestmethodsmayneedtobemadeinindividualspecificationsortestmethodsforaparticularmaterial.Note28212;AcompletemetriccompaniontoTestMethodsB557hasbeendevelopedTestMethodsB557M;therefore,nometricequivalentsarepresentedinthesetestmethods.
