【摘要】:Thedeformationandendpointofaconecorrespondstoacertainheat-workconditionduetotheeffectsoftime,temperature,andatmosphere.Theprecisionofthistestmethodissubjecttomanyvariablesthataredifficulttocontrol.Therefore,anexperiencedoperatormaybenecessarywherePCEvaluesarebeingutilizedforspecificationpurposes.PCEvaluesareusedtoclassifyfireclayandhighaluminarefractories.Thisisaneffectivemethodofidentifyingfireclayvariations,miningcontrol,anddevelopingrawmaterialspecifications.Althoughnotrecommended,thistestmethodissometimesappliedtomaterialsotherthanfireclayandhighalumina.Suchpracticeshouldbelimitedtoin-houselaboratoriesandneverbeusedforspecificationpurposes.1.1ThistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthePyrometricConeEquivalent(PCE)offireclay,fireclaybrick,highaluminabrick,andsilicafireclayrefractorymortarbycomparisonoftestconeswithstandardpyrometricconesundertheconditionsprescribedinthistestmethod.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
