【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoflowtemperatureflowbehavior,throughascreen-typetestfilter,ofaviationturbinefuels,whichcancontainseparatedsolidsaswax.ProcedureAemploysa26-?mtestfilterandistherecommendedprocedure.Someexistinginstrumentsarefittedwitha42-?mfilter,andProcedureBisretainedtoenabletheircontinueduse.TheuseofProcedureA(26-?mtestfilter)withfuelsthathaveaviscosityofgreaterthan5.0mm/s(cSt)at-20?C,asdeterminedbyTestMethodD445,canaffecttheprecisionandthesimulatedfreezingpointobtainedonsuchfuelsandcangiveahigher(warmer)resultthantheconventionalfreezingpointobtainedbyTestMethodD2386.Note1-Theprincipleofthistestmethodreliesonflowthroughafine-meshtestfilter,and,hence,theresultcanbeaffectedbytheviscosityofthesample.WhenusingProcedureA,ano-flowconditionisreachedwhencrystalsblockthetestfilterortheviscosityexceedsabout14mm/s(cSt);samplewithaviscosityofgreaterthan5mm/s(cSt)at-20?Cmayexceedthe14-mm/s(cSt)thresholdatatemperaturebeforecrystalsareformed.Ifviscosityaffectstheresultbeforecrystalsareformed,thenthereportedvalueoftheno-flowtemperatureofthesamplewillalwaysbewarmerthantheactualfreezingpoint,andthereforefail-safeandanindicatorofpossibleflowanomaliesatlowtemperature.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
